As a not-for-profit, independent hospital, most of Cabell Huntington Hospital's net revenue is required to maintain operations, leaving a very small percentage to invest in technology, facilities and new services. The Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation was established in 1983 to provide a method of support for the hospital by receiving gifts of cash, stock, property and other assets, and it serves as a steward for philanthropic gifts to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Thanks to the generous financial support of our donors, we continue to build and maintain the resources needed to provide a variety of essential services to the patients we serve. A variety of special funds have already been established to meet the many needs of our hospital's services and programs, including:
Depending on your wishes, the Foundation staff can ensure that your donation benefits any service you specify or to the area of greatest need.

An endowment is a donation of money or property to a not-for-profit organization for its ongoing support. An endowment may come with stipulations regarding its usage. Typically, the principal amount is kept intact while the investment income is available for use, or part of the principal is released each year, which allows for the donation to have an impact over a longer period than if it were spent all at once. Endowments are funded by donations, which are tax deductible for donors. Through an endowment, your gift will keep on giving well into the future.
The assets of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation are closely monitored by the Executive Committee of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation Board, which includes experienced investors and leaders from a variety of business backgrounds. All stewards of the Foundation’s assets are held to the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional performance.
