CHH Foundation COO David Graley accepts Auxiliary donation to the Hoops Family Children's Hospital.

The Cabell Huntington Hospital Auxiliary again demonstrated its spirit of giving by presenting $100,000 to benefit the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital, bringing their total donation since 2007 to $1.4 million. The Auxiliary originally made a 10-year pledge of $1 million, but thanks to hard work and dedication, that pledge was fulfilled well ahead of schedule. Funds have been raised through sales on the hospital’s campus, profits from the hospital’s Gift Shop and through special events coordinated by volunteers.

“Today is a major milestone for the Cabell Huntington Hospital volunteers who have assisted in getting the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital project underway,” said Marian Tissenbaum, President of the CHH Auxiliary. “They have worked tirelessly to support this cause. Our volunteers take their commitments very seriously. As president of this group, I want to thank each one of our members for their dedication. It was an honor to have been part of such a great project for our community.”

Volunteers throughout Cabell Huntington Hospital assist staff and visitors each day, and they were recognized for that work during a special luncheon Friday, April 26 that included Huntington Mayor Steve Williams, who proclaimed Friday as “Cabell Huntington Hospital Volunteer Services Day.” To learn more about volunteer opportunities at Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center or the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital, please call 304.526.2113.
