Cabell Huntington Hospital will offer a preview of Huntington’s Kitchen at a free open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, during ChiliFest in downtown Huntington. Everyone is invited to stop by and sample healthy chili, learn about what’s next for Huntington’s Kitchen and check out the expanded schedule of cooking courses and health and wellness events.
New kitchen manager Joy Dalton, MBA, an award-winning culinary arts and restaurant management teacher, moved from her position with Putnam County Schools to oversee operations at Huntington’s Kitchen.
“There are no limitations to the impact that Huntington’s Kitchen can have on our community’s health, and I consider myself to be fortunate to be a part of it,” Dalton said. "The kitchen is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to share information and expertise about improving our health simply by changing what we eat and how we cook. We look forward to welcoming new faces!"
In addition to expanded cooking courses for adults, children and families, health education events and cooking demonstrations will also be offered at Huntington’s Kitchen, which is located at 911 Third Avenue across from Pullman Square. For more information, please call 304-522-0887.
