CHH's Get Well Wednesdays Aug. 10 & 17 at the Huntington Mall

With the new school year just weeks away, Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Huntington Mall, Cabell-Huntington Health Department and the Huntington YMCA want to send students back to class with a positive attitude about health, nutrition and fitness.

Get Well Wednesdays will take place at the Huntington Mall on August 10 and 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. near the Cabell Huntington Healthy Kids Play place located under the Elder-Beerman dome in the mall.

Each week there will be special activities, health screenings and giveaways that will give kids a chance to learn more about their health, staying fit and eating nutritious food at home and at school.

Schedule of activities:

Aug. 10: Hearing, Vision and Scoliosis Screenings

Screenings will be provided by nurses and physicians from the Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital and University Pediatrics

FREE immunizations (See list of available vaccinations below.)

Parents/guardians MUST bring shot records to receive vaccinations for their children.

Huntington Y Fitness Fun

Join fitness experts from the YMCA for energizing and fun activities in the dome in front of Elder-Beerman.

Aug. 17: Eat Healthy, Feel Well!

Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Food Service Department will provide FREE lunch samples and demonstrations about packing a nutritious and healthy lunch.

 

Free Immunizations

The Cabell-Huntington Health Department will provide the listed adolescent and childhood immunizations for free on Aug. 10. The parent/guardian MUST bring childhood shot records for all children receiving immunizations.

  • DTap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
  • PPSV (Pneumococcal)
  • IPV (Inactivated Poliovirus)
  • PCV13 (Pneumococcal)
  • HIB (Haemophilus Influenza type b)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
