CHH's MRI Department earns accreditation
The Radiology Department at Cabell Huntington Hospital has earned accreditation from the American College of Radiology for both MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanners in use at the hospital.
Cabell Huntington Hospital uses the latest MRI technology to provide physicians with more detailed images of a patient's anatomy. The MRI Department opened in 2006 with the addition of a 1.5T scanner and expanded in 2008 with the latest 3T MRI technology. In awarding this three-year accreditation, the American College of Radiology evaluated the qualifications of the hospital's radiology personnel and the quality of the equipment to ensure patients receive the highest quality care possible. The department's technologists are all board certified, and services are provided six days a week for convenient scheduling.
Additionally, Cabell Huntington Hospital's MRI service is now recognized as a "Center of Excellence" in compliance with standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
