Stroke is a serious emergency that can strike at any time. About seven million Americans 20 years of age or older have had a stroke. A stroke can happen at any age; about one out of four strokes occur in people under the age of 65.
In recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month, Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Advanced Primary Stroke Center is hosting a free community event offering information and screenings to help you better understand your risk of having a stroke. Free screenings for stroke, peripheral vascular disease and blood pressure will be provided by health professionals from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the atrium.
