Two CHH NICU Nurses are WSAZ Hometown Heroes

Charlee Gundy and her husband lost their daughter, Marlee, who was born prematurely at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Marlee died the week after being diagnosed with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), which can be fatal for many premature babies. Charlee Gundy recently reunited with NICU nurses Ellen Darnell and Keri McClean, both of whom helped care for Marlee, when she and her family visited the NICU to present Ellen Darnell and Keri McClean with Hometown Hero awards for the care they gave Marlee and the extra steps they took to comfort the family after Marlee passed away.
