The Center for Lung Health at Cabell Huntington Hospital offers evaluations by board-certified pulmonologist and treatment for a variety of lung problems and conditions, including:
- Bronchitis
- Pneumonia
- Asthma
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Lung Cancer
- Emphysema
- Sarcoidosis
- Sleep Apnea
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Lung Health outpatient evaluations include pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gases, methacholine challenge testing, six-minute walk testing and cardiopulmonary stress testing. The testing performed at The Center for Lung Health location are the primary methods used to diagnose, stage and monitor many common pulmonary diseases. Patients are offered disease-specific education, along with advice and suggestions about nutrition, home care, self-management strategies and relaxation/breathing techniques, and they have access to the pulmonary help line and may speak with a nurse or respiratory therapist about urgent needs associated with their pulmonary disorder.
